ACCOUNTING IN REALITY (A.I.R)
KICK OFF EVENT: CASE WRITING AND DATA ANALYTICS WORKSHOP
This event kicks off Accounting in Reality (AIR), RCAS’s two day flagship Conference, and marks the inaugural year of AIR being a tri-campus event. For the first time, students from across all three University of Toronto campuses are invited to participate in and learn from the events that occur throughout the week. At the kickoff event, students will have the opportunity to hear from the case partner’s representatives and classify general case related questions in a friendly networking environment. The kickoff event includes case writing and Data Analytics workshops that aim to educate students, and help develop the technical skills required for effective case analysis and presentation.
The final day of Accounting in Reality revolves around the case presentation. The day will begin with the preliminary rounds of case presentations during the morning. Following lunch with firm representatives, the afternoon will consist of workshops facilitated by our sponsoring accounting firms, a round of finalists’ presentations, and the announcement for the winner of Accounting Symposium 2020! The conference concludes with a networking session where students will be able to network with representatives from various firms, as well as an after social. This day will provide students with the opportunity to showcase the technical soft skills they developed throughout the week to firm representatives, while expanding their professional networks.
Coffee House is a casual drop-in event, where Rotman Commerce students will have the opportunity to connect in an informal setting with the RCAS family. Students will be informed about recruitment, volunteer opportunities available on campus, and summer jobs. Furthermore, Coffee House allows the Rotman Commerce community to meet the incoming RCAS executives and allows RCAS to collect feedback for all events that students had attended, allowing RCAS to continue improving every year.
