August 25th – 26th, 2020
Recruiting Anatomy takes place during the accounting recruiting season in August and September with a focus on connecting Rotman Commerce students to opportunities at the Big 4. Through interactive workshops and networking, students can develop and demonstrate proficiency in various soft skills required in the workplace and as well as build relationship that will help expand their professional network.
Accounting Week
Week of September 14th, 2020
Accounting Week is aimed at educating students about the opportunities in the accounting profession beyond the Big 4. Through online information sessions by the Mid 5 firms, students will be introduced to accounting firms and what they offer for CPA students. The goal is for students to have a better understanding of the accounting landscape and make more informed career choices
Chartered for Success
September 2020
Chartered for Success is an event designed to help first year Rotman students transition into University, learn more about the accounting specialist and what it entails, make new friends while participating in fun engaging workshops, and to learn more about the Rotman Commerce Accounting Society Family. Students will participate in engaging workshops and icebreakers. As well as hear from a panel of upper year Rotman students to learn more about their experiences, and how they overcame first year obstacles.
RCAS Cares
Week of January 18th, 2021
RCAS Cares is centred on community involvement and helping the community. Through presentations by a local partner charity and the Big 4 (Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC), students can learn about the plethora of ways to get involved in the community. At the same time, through four interactive workshops aimed at creating in-kind donations to help the partner charity, students get to interact with firm representatives while making a difference in the community.
Explore: CPAs in Finance
Week of February 8th, 2021
This event is aimed to provide exposure to accounting roles and CPA programs currently in financial institution, insurance companies and asset management companies. Students who wish to pursue a career outside of the Big 4 and closer to finance, will be able to build lasting connections and learn about opportunities that are being offered for summer and full-time students. It also aims to educate students about emerging trends in the accounting industry.

Week of February 22nd, 2021
CPA Crossroads is an event with a focus on educating students about the diversity of opportunities available in the accounting field. Through networking and interactive workshops with accounting professionals working in various industries and roles, the event helps students explore the various career paths available with the CPA designation and educate students about getting a CPA through a presentation by CPA Ontario.
ACCOUNTING IN REALITY (A.I.R)

KICK OFF EVENT: CASE WRITING AND DATA ANALYTICS WORKSHOP
This event kicks off Accounting in Reality (AIR), RCAS’s two day flagship Conference, and marks the inaugural year of AIR being a tri-campus event. For the first time, students from across all three University of Toronto campuses are invited to participate in and learn from the events that occur throughout the week. At the kickoff event, students will have the opportunity to hear from the case partner’s representatives and classify general case related questions in a friendly networking environment. The kickoff event includes case writing and Data Analytics workshops that aim to educate students, and help develop the technical skills required for effective case analysis and presentation.

ACCOUNTING SYMPOSIUM
-DAY 2-
The final day of Accounting in Reality revolves around the case presentation. The day will begin with the preliminary rounds of case presentations during the morning. Following lunch with firm representatives, the afternoon will consist of workshops facilitated by our sponsoring accounting firms, a round of finalists’ presentations, and the announcement for the winner of Accounting Symposium 2020! The conference concludes with a networking session where students will be able to network with representatives from various firms, as well as an after social. This day will provide students with the opportunity to showcase the technical soft skills they developed throughout the week to firm representatives, while expanding their professional networks.
COFFEE HOUSE
MARCH 2021
Coffee House is a casual drop-in event, where Rotman Commerce students will have the opportunity to connect in an informal setting with the RCAS family. Students will be informed about recruitment, volunteer opportunities available on campus, and summer jobs. Furthermore, Coffee House allows the Rotman Commerce community to meet the incoming RCAS executives and allows RCAS to collect feedback for all events that students had attended, allowing RCAS to continue improving every year.
